Israeli Archaeologist Claims He Has Found Temple's Location and it is NOT beneath the Dome of the Rock
The possible new location "leaves the rock (in the Dome of the Rock) outside of the confines of the Temple itself."
WND/TN (Feb. 12th, 2007)
WorldNetDaily
reports that, using 140 year-old maps by British explorer Sir Charles
Wilson and passages from the Jewish Mishnah, Israeli archaeologist and
university professor Joseph Patrich says he has pinpointed the location
of the sacred Jewish Temple...and it is not on the site of the Dome of
the Rock.
In 1866, on behalf of the Palestine
Exploration Fund, Charles Wilson is said to have mapped a series of
ancient cisterns below the present Temple Mount platform. It is one of
those, Patrich notes, that preserves a vestige of the Temple that stood
until it was destroyed by Rome in A.D. 70.
According to
the report, Patrich believes the Temple, its corresponding courtyards,
chambers and gates were oriented in a more southeasterly direction,
sitting diagonally on what is the modern Temple Mount, rather than
closer to today's Western Wall as many believe.
In
essence, Patrich's siting "has the Temple further east and south of
locations proposed by other scholars and diagonal, rather than
perpendicular to the Temple Mount's eastern and western walls. It also
leaves the rock in the Dome of the Rock outside of the confines of the
Temple itself. Source: BBC This is a big deal because the rebuilt of the temple is one of the signs of Jesus' return. The Dome was a big problem blocking the temple from being built.....

| Did you notice how little the Bible talks about "family" and how much is about "church"? Did you notice how few healthy families were portrayed and how much dysfunction families were exposed in the pages of the scripture? I guess I never really noticed it. Guess I'd like to see the patriarch are spiritual giants and their family line was chosen because of their faith. A closer look at them revealed a dysfunctional, sinful, "common" bunch of people receiving special grace, covenant and love of God.
I'd like to propose that a husband and wife should enter into marriage relationship as brother-and-sister-in-Christ as their "primary" relationship and husband-and-wife as their secondary relationship. I believe when we are "in Christ", our spiritual relationship is stronger than the earthly relationship. For two christians to relate as spiritual family members, the bond and intimacy exceeds the earthly husband and wife's relationship which was modeled after our family of origin with generations of cultural/traditional baggage and often is so faulty. All of a sudden, the Bible becomes a great source of building a strong marriage if we learn from all the teachings on how the church body functions. The oneness and the union of two people really model after the Triune God and how they operate. The family/marriage will model after God and it is a lot easier to be rid of the earthly influence.
May be I will write a book about it. What a great line of thoughts. I am excited.

| In my younger days (spiritually), I enjoy reading the bible and often get a lot out of it. I honestly don't think I need seminary kind of training to read the bible. Bible is for everyone...right? God must know that not everyone goes to seminary. He speaks to those of us common folks.
As I grew and saw and heard more, I become more and more aware of the errors in "common people"'s theology. Especially those "old" common people who stay in a church for 30+ years. Their errors carry authority and can hurt the church and younger christians. The sad thing is they think they "knew" it - the Truth. They are like a high school student who think they know science, and "believe" in the accuracy of science. Wait until they receive their Ph.D. and ask them again. They will tell you many different views and school of thoughts. So, I am picking up more and more seminary classes - online, through CD's, or books. It keeps me humble and on my toes. God is a mystery. One can never know enough of Him. Our human mind is so "conditioned" by the world value and the culture we grew up with, that we look at God through those "colored glasses". We really need help from God, and from people who know a little bit more than we do, or spend a little bit more time and effort research and study God and His words. Even then, I will not believe everything I read.
One such common folk firmly believes that we should enter into our chamber to pray or read God's word - that he should not allow his family members to see him pray and read the Bible. No wonder his children are questioning the "spiritual" side of him, whether it exists or not. He understands the bible in a literal way, without seeing the point that God does not want us to have spiritual pride by showing off when we pray or reading the bible. As long as we keep a humble heart, praying and reading the bible in front of family members are totally encouraged.

| I was sharing with my bible study group about romans 8:32. This verse was given to me when my son Josh was 6 weeks old and was diagnosed with Jaundice which was deadly according to the doctor. God gave me this verse and I was not sure what it meant. I thank God for Josh - however long I might have him. Without any treatment, Josh was healed.
A lady called Lynne walked up to me afterward. She told me that she is a Pediatrician. She said that there was a 2 month old baby under her care who also had Jaundice, and the baby did not make it. She said that at that age, Jaundice is a very serious problem and quite deadly. I knew God healed Josh. But, I never really know how big a miracle it is until today. Josh is 30 years old now and is in seminary. I guess it is fitting that he does not consider his life his, but God's.

| When I became a christian, one of the first lessons God gave me is on "Submission". 30+ years later, I am still learning about submission. Only until recently, I realized that I have mis-understood God and practiced submission in the wrong spirit and motive that it can actually be sinful and wrong. My heart aches for many more women or christians who suffer in the alley of submission and wonder why God wants us to give up our brain and practice a submission that doesn't make sense. If we chose to disobey, we will feel the condemnating fire breathing down on our neck carrying such a force and power to force us to give in.
In John 17:1-2 Jesus talked to the Father: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. ..."
Jesus speaks with submissiveness and as someone "under" the authority of His Father. The Holy Spirit, in turn seems to be "under" Jesus:
John 14:26: the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said
to you. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears.(John 16:13) From the Trinity, I saw a different kind of submission. Because God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are all "God"; no one is greater than the other, we see the submission is an important character of God showing how the Trinity operates and how the three of them work out "unity". When God created man and woman, and for them to become one flesh, He is creating a trinity-kind of unity among men through marriage and church. The "Submission" in this context is not a up-down, greater-lesser, bigger-smaller kind of relationship for one to submit to another. It is to manifest how the trinity operates : people with different roles and functions to live together and achieve "unity". When we live it out, it show forth God's glory.
I try to put it in a table:
worldly submission Biblical submission one with less power equal in power submit to one with greater power
operate under law, operate thru love, (you ought to); forced a choice
fear of condemnation courage to pay or punishment the price, willingness to go the extra mile
self-centered other-centered (self-protection, self-righteous) for the benefit of the other
carries negative emotions no emotional -anger, resentment, .... baggage, only love.
let go of truth In truth, and have (betray God's truth) courage to stand for the truth. (operates in truth, and only in truth)
wrong right
There are probably more to put down, but this is already eye-opening and life-changing to me. Praise God for the power of submission and the glory associated with it.
